Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument Park Day 2024 – Zollicoffer Park, Hwy 235, Nancy, KY, 8:30am-12pm. Mill Springs Battlefield National Monument is participating in the American Battlefield Trust’s Annual Park Day. Members of the local community are invited to help. Volunteers are needed to help clean over 140 cenotaph headstones representing Confederate soldiers who died during the Battle of Mill Springs. Volunteers that sign up for this event will receive training on how to clean these headstones for preservation purposes. An interpretive program will be given about the battle with emphasis on several of the soldiers’ lives who are still buried in unmarked trenches around the battlefield. Volunteers interested in participating in Park Day must pre-register.
