Juneteenth Commemoration & Community Discussion – Judicial Center Plaza, 50 Public Square, Somerset, KY, 6pm. June 19th is an historically significant day within the United States. That date commemorates the complete freeing of the slaves took place on June 19, 1865, two years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. Recent events now give the day a new meaning. This event is all inclusive and will feature various speakers, music and more. The event is also to bring the community together to honor Breonna Taylor and George Floyd and look at ways of educating the community about the social and racial problems people of color face here in Pulaski County.
