In The Mood a Big Band Musical

Center Stage is presented by the Lake Cumberland Performing Arts in partnership with the Center for Rural Development. This show is celebrating its 25th anniversary and has toured every year since 1993. There are 19 people on stage with Big Band music and a storyline that transitions from year to year leading up to and following World War II. “In the Mood” is a celebration of the music of the 1930s & 40s – the Big Band era. It is the last time that all Americans were listening and dancing to the same kind of music. With the sensational Big band Orchestra and fabulous “In the Mood” singers and dancers, the great melodies and lyrics that are still with us today are presented in a musical revue that is jazzy, sentimental, rhythmic, nostalgic and patriotic – all happening at the same time. With musical arrangements, costumes and choreography, “In the Mood” is as authentic as it gets.
