What is Master Musicians Festival (MMF)?

The Master Musicians Festival endeavors each year to bring a wide variety of multi-cultural and multi-generational music to our eclectic stage – from the blues to bluegrass, from Celtic to Haitian roots, from rock ‘n’ roll to jazz to progressive newgrass to country to Americana and everything in between – for the best ticket price around.  This years headliner is The Walloflowers, an American Rock Band. Past performers include Willie Nelson, Counting Crows, John Prine, Jason Isabell, and most recently Wynona Judd.

Dates and Location

The Master Musicians Festival is being held this year on July 18, 19, & 20, 2024. The festival begins July 18th with Classical Night at The Virginia in downtown Somerset (SOLD OUT)  while the main 2-day festival will take place on Festival Field at Somerset Community College (808 Monticello St. Somerset, KY 42501).

Activities

Beyond the incredible music, the Master Musicians Festival offers activities to keep you entertained throughout the weekend. Explore the Maker’s Mill Art Valley, where you can browse unique crafts, artwork, and locally made goods. You’ll want to check out the Kids Camp on Saturday, it’s for kids of all ages (children 12 and younger are admitted to the festival FREE with a ticket-holding adult)! Indulge in delicious food from an array of vendors offering mouthwatering options to satisfy any craving.

For those seeking a break from the crowds, take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful surroundings or find a cozy spot to relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere. Hammocks and blankets are welcome! The festival grounds offer plenty of space to unwind and connect with nature between sets.

Tips for a Memorable Experience

Plan your schedule: With multiple stages and performances happening, take some time to map out your must-see acts to avoid missing out on your favorites.

Stay hydrated: Kentucky summers can get hot, so be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated and energized. Bring an empty water bottle and fill it up at the water station provided! Even bring a cooler with your favorite drinks but leave the alcohol at home!

Dress comfortably: Opt for lightweight, breathable clothing and don’t forget to bring sunscreen and a hat to shield yourself from the sun. There is a shade tent on site as well.

Embrace the vibe: Let go of inhibitions, dance like nobody’s watching, and fully immerse yourself in the music and community spirit of the festival.
