5 Reasons You Should Attend Master Musicians Festival

Held on Festival Field at Somerset Community College, Master Musicians Festival kicks off their 28th year on July 16, 2021.

Past festival headliners include John Prine, Willie Nelson, The Counting Crows, and Steve Earle. This year, catch headliner Blues Traveler alongside The Steeldrivers, Devon Gilfillian, The Wooks, Bee Taylor, and so many more! See the full lineup here.

Love of Live Music

Each year the Master Musicians Festival welcomes a wide variety of music to the stage – from blues to bluegrass, rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, progressive newgrass, country, to Americana and everything in between.

Family Friendly Fun

Kids of all ages have a blast at Festival Field. Activities are planned throughout the day specifically for kids to enjoy. Children 12 and younger are admitted FREE, with a ticket-holding adult. Families dancing and enjoying the music is a sight to see.

Incredible Art

Each year Kentucky artisans are asked to submit their festival-themed artwork to be featured on MMF merchandise and to be auctioned off at the festival. The money raised from the art sold is put back into MMF to help bring more musicians to the area. I’d be remiss if I forget one of my favorite spots- Art Valley. Juried artisans and craftsmen are set up all along the valley showcasing their creative work.

Delicious Food

After you’ve been sitting outside in the sun all day or under the shaded trees, your belly is going to start rumbling. Thankfully, you don’t have to leave the Festival Field to grab a bite to eat or drink–just a short walk to a wide variety of choices for whatever you’re craving! Food vendors include Baxter’s Coffee and food trucks from across the region. Hint: I recommend the BBQ nachos from Get UR Smoke On BBQ or the burrito from Tacos Tanaco.

Wallet Friendly

35 very talented musicians/bands will play on one of the three stages set up across Festival Field for two days. Master Musicians Festival is very affordable with ticket prices starting at an early Bird Special of $45.00.  If you don’t catch it at that rate you can get tickets for $65.00 for the entire weekend!
