NKT Television has just published BrushPile Fishing's video coverage of the 2014 Cabela's Crappie USA Classic held on Lake Cumberland. 250 of the top anglers in the nation competed for $107,000.00 in cash and prizes.

Crappie USA will return to Lake Cumberland for a qualifying tournament Oct. 30-31. Sponsored by the Somerset-Pulaski County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Burnside Tourism and the Kentucky Sports Authority, this tournament will give local anglers an opportunity to compete for cash, prizes and a chance to advance to the 2016 Cabela's Crappie USA Classic. 

Help Somerset-Pulaski County CVB-Lake Cumberland Tourism reach 1,500 likes on Facebook and earn the chance to win one LC T-shirt or hat with a sleeve of golf balls! All you have to do is like our Facebook page, share the post about this contest and comment by naming your favorite place in the Lake Cumberland area. That place can be anywhere from your favorite cove on the lake to your favorite restaurant. When sharing our post, be sure to set the privacy to public so we can see you shared it. 

A new feature on is helping build excitement about Lake Cumberland through social media.

The #GetSocial hub aggregates social media posts and shares them with website visitors. The hub includes posts with hashtags related to Lake Cumberland or other tourism destinations around the area, as well as posts from specific geographic locations on the lake. Posts are reviewed and approved by website administrators, who take special care to choose quality content.

Voters have selected Lake Cumberland the fourth best recreational lake in the United States in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Award contest.

In honor of Lakes Appreciation Month in July, set out to find the best recreational lakes in the nation. A panel of travel experts hand-picked its top 20 nominees, and public voting lasted four weeks. Lake Cumberland joined some of the largest and most well-known lakes across the country in this contest — including Lake Placid, Lake Tahoe and Lake Michigan.
